ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Alan Trent Neil

Alan Trent Neil’s roots trace back to the Swiss municipality of Bieberstein, Aargau. He inherited his mother’s love of writing and began creating stories at a very young age. What started as comic books made for his classmates’ entertainment eventually grew into two full novels, both long lost in time.

He also shared his father’s passion for travel. By the time he started writing Devastated Town, journeys with his father had already taken him across roughly half the world. Through folklore and local tales, he became fascinated by the different ways cultures understand and confront the occult. Those experiences intertwined with childhood nightmares and beliefs, becoming some of the elements that shaped the Devastated Series as he matured as a writer. Devastated Town became his first completed work.

In the years that followed, his journeys would take him around the globe many times, through more than one hundred countries across every continent, as he continued exploring cultures, traditions, beliefs and legends surrounding the supernatural and the unexplained.

The Devastated Series blends supernatural horror, dark fantasy, mystery and religious mythology, exploring fear, faith, superstition, morality and the unseen forces that have shaped human imagination across time.

When Alan left his parents’ home and began his career as a young adult, he believed the manuscripts had been left behind and lost. Recently, however, he rediscovered them and chose to revisit that younger imagination rather than replace it entirely, preserving some of the innocence and peculiarities with which the stories had originally been conceived.

Devastated Town is the first revised work and marks the beginning of a larger fictional universe that continues throughout the Devastated Series.
